Launching Success: The Inaugural Recoup Speaker Series on Asset Management Excellence at UCSD

In case you missed it:

During the first session of the Recoup Speaker Series, AssetWorks welcomed the
property management team from the University of California San Diego for a deep dive
into the significance of fostering partnerships and collaborative efforts throughout the
asset lifecycle. The discussion, spearheaded by Jamie Wheat, UCSD’s Capital
Equipment Manager emphasized the critical role that human connections play in
establishing and upholding superior asset management systems and methodologies.
The panel provided an insightful and honest exploration of how UCSD works
interdepartmentally to implement asset management excellence within one of the
nation’s premier research institutions.

Below is a snippet from the event: We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who
participated in yesterday’s conversation. Your engagement, from accepting our invitation to
sharing it with peers and contributing questions, is deeply appreciated. We recognize
the value of your time and aim to offer meaningful takeaways, inspiration, and the
reassurance that you are backed by a whole community.

This session marks the beginning of what we’ve dubbed the “Recoup Speaker Series.”
Our vision for this series is to deliver relatable and accessible knowledge, bolstering our
asset management community. Providing a comprehensive overview of a model like
UCSD’s, which stands as a beacon of best practices, was, in our hopes, the perfect
kickoff.
